North Bank Ride
Time: Approximately 1 hour
A gentle amble out and back on a quiet track with pleasant views across the valley. A good choice for novice riders. No steep trails so everyone can enjoy the scenery from the saddle of a quiet horse.
Branch River Ride
Time: Approximately 1½ hours
A wonderful back country track along the Branch River. We cross and recross the river as we wind our way upstream to a ruined musterers hut. The horses are rested and grazed and trekkers get the opportunity to sit, relax and enjoy the untouched beauty and stillness of this hidden valley.
Forest Track Ride
Time: Approximately 2 hours
This ride crosses the Branch River and heads slowly up a track through new forest. The views get progressively more beautiful as we climb, with clear sight of "The Ned" at the highest point. On the outward journey there are opportunities for the more intrepid trekker to trot or canter along the grassier sections of the track. Homeward bound we cross the Branch River many times and on hot days riders can take their horses into water holes to cool off.
Homebrook Ride
Time: 3½ to 4½ hours depending on the speed of the ride and ability of the riders
Ride out over our river flats and climb steadily upward through sheep and cattle country. There's a scenic photo opportunity stop at Trig Point with expansive views across the Wairau Valley, Blenheim, lagoons, and across Cook Strait to Kapiti and the North Island. A great opportunity for experienced riders to have a good canter on the way outward.
