Looking East From The House At A Southerly Storm Heading For Wellington.
"Ardnadam" the name we chose for our farm, means, roughly, " height of the grave" in Gaelic, and we chose this place name after a farm in Scotland, near Dunoon in Argyllshire., where a young couple were enjoying life in the country. They never had two beans to rub together but they did their best rescuing horses and other animals and welcoming strangers like us into their home and farm. There has always been a farm of that name in that place and we would like to think that "our" Ardnadam will last at least half as long in the future as their place has in the past. I wrote to them and asked if they would mind us using their name and they were delighted that something so old could move forwards to a new world and a new future.
